NJ Police Say Easton Man Stole Jewelry

An Easton man is accused of stealing $50,000 worth of jewelry from a New Jersey home.
John Miller, 46, was charged last month with the theft from the residence on Pony Lane in Raritan Township, Hunterdon County, the Hunterdon County Democrat reports.
Miller had been working as a contractor at the home. The theft was reported Oct. 10, and Miller was arrested Oct. 28 and sent to county jail.

Raritan Township is about 30 miles from Easton. Under New Jersey law, theft of property valued between $500 and $75,000 is considered a crime of the third degree and carries a prison term of three to five years.
