Man Charged With Molesting Easton Girl
Police say Roberty Chumbiriza had sex with 12-year-old five times in 2008 in Easton.
A North Carolina man was jailed Monday after being charged with molesting a 12-year-old girl in Easton three years ago.
According to city police, Robert Chumbiriza, 24, of Shannon, NC, had sex with the girl five times in December 2008. Police say the encounters took place in the girl's Second Street home.
The girl's mother reported the incidents to police last year, and investigators issued a warrant for his arrest. Easton police Det. Joseph Alonzo said Chumbiriza was arrested in North Carolina in August, but had fought extradition.

Chumbiriza was arraigned Monday before on charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault, statuatory sexual assault, and indecent assault. He was sent to in lieu of $500,000 bail.
