Odds and Ends from County Council

A few items worth noting from Thursday's Northampton County Council meeting:

• Council heard from representatives from the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp., who argued for the passage of a . Pete Reinke, one of the LVEDC's vice presidents, said the interchange makes the region more attractive to potential employers.
• On a related note, Council members Ron Angle and Peg Ferraro want Chrin to hold a meeting for residents in Upper Nazareth Township to outline the project. Angle and Ferraro say the interchange will impact the township, which isn't part of the TIF.
• County Executive John Stoffa will take over management of Gracedale on Sept. 26. David Hollings, an Easton-area native, will be the nursing home's new administrator. Stoffa also noted that Gracedale's census -- 585 people -- is the "the lowest I've ever seen it."
• Easton could be moving soon. Council will vote at its Oct. 6 for a new lease for Elwell at 400 Northampton St., in the former Morning Call bureau at the .
