Tour the Marx Room and the upper floors of our beautiful Carnegie Library from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Heritage Day, Sunday, July 7.
The Marx Room holds many treasures including the Easton Flag, the Penn Patent issued in 1763 conveying land now at 22 S. 3rd Street to build a county prison, and the 1809 Baptismal Fraktur by Easton Bible artist Johann Spangenberg.
On the upper floors you can see some of the beautiful woodwork, columns, furniture and photographs of the old Library. You’ll see the original children’s room, adult reading room, and director’s office. The circulation desk and grand marble staircase are gone, but you’ll be able to picture what those first Library patrons saw. The tour is self-guided.
