PennDOT Will Close Part of Route 611
State will shut down Route 611 between Raubsville Road and Route 212 for six weeks.

If you travel on Route 611 south of Easton on a regular basis, your commute over the next few weeks will be a lot longer.
PennDOT plans to shut down the road between Raubsville Road in Williams Township and Route 212 just south of Riegelsville starting Monday, April 16.
The plan is to repair a wall along the road in Williams Township, a project that's expected to wrap up May 24. According to PennDOT, the wall was damaged last fall , and has continued to deteriorate.

In the meantime, PennDOT will detour traffic from Route 212 to Route 412 to Interstate 78 for people traveling north (and vice versa for people heading south).

However, PennDOT spokesman Ron Young noted that drivers can still find their way north or south using secondary roads.
Beyond the detour for drivers, the project will have some very real impact on at least one business along Route 611.
Country Store and Restaurant will lay off nearly half its staff, owner Mary Adams tells the Express-Times.
She said the project is happening at a time when road construction is already hurting business, given the ongoing bridge repair on Route 611 north of Riegelsville.
