Easton School of Rock's band performs a charity concert for high school's International Charity Club
Easton School of Rock's Bank Street Band performed Saturday night at to benefit Easton High School's International Charity Club.
This is the second year that the Bank Street Band has played for charity. The events bring together young, talented students to play as a legitimate rock band. The Bank Street Band navigated the classic rock genre with heart and soul.
For two hours, the air was filled with the sound of songs by The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Cream, Ozzy Osborne and Guns 'N Roses, among others. Rosa Javier sang on a bluesy rendition of The Beatles' "Oh Darling," Nikki Palar astounded with vocals on Pink Floyd's "Mother" and Guns 'N Roses "Sweet Child O' Mine", and several stood out on guitar and drums.

Ray Thierrin owns the Easton franchise with his wife Sue. During the show, he acted as an engineer and an MC. How does he feel watching the kids rock out onstage? Proud, of course.
"I think it's amazing, [from] where they come in to how they come out [of the program.] It's totally incredible." Thierrin cites the average age of the performers – just 15. The Bank Street Band is a core program of the School, and the band has won two "Best of the Valley" awards: Best teenage band and best school/organization band. They've played Musikfest, among other venues, and are looking to get into local establishments.
