Police: Craigslist Deal Leads to Gun Assault
Easton man accused of pistol-whipping another Eastonian at Palmer McDonalds over faulty computer.

An Easton man was jailed Thursday night after he allegedly pistol-whipped another man at the Palmer Township McDonald's over a Craigslist deal gone wrong.
According to the Express-Times, John Brown, 22, of West Grant Street, turned himself into Palmer police Thursday night.
Police say Brown and another man, fellow Easton resident Robert Peters, had begun a correspondence on Craiglist and worked out a deal: Peters would give Brown a set of rims and a computer tower in exchange for an X-box and a speaker box.

But police say the computer didn't work, which led to a series of threatening text messages between the two men.
They agreed to meet at the McDonald's at the 25th Street shopping center, where Brown confronted Peters and hit him with a handgun. The gun went off during the assault, police said, and hit the roof of the car.
