Police: Easton Man Took PCP While Watching Kids

West Ward resident Joshua Pereira jailed for allegedly endangering his children's welfare.

An Easton man was charged with endangering the welfare of children after he allegedly took PCP while he was the lone adult in the house with a 2- and 4-year-old, Easton police said.

Joshua Pereira, 24, of 806 Ferry St. was left alone with his two children while their mother was out early Saturday morning, according to court records.

It was a little after midnight when police responded to the address where Pereira reported he wasn’t feeling well and had trouble breathing. He later admitted to taking the drug.

According to the affidavit, when police arrived, Pereira was unable to respond when he was asked if anyone else was home. Police found two children in a bedroom.

Pereira was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $3,500 bail.
