Police: Man Choked, Threatened to Kill, Wife
Stephen Allegar jailed on assault charges.

An Easton man was jailed Tuesday night on charges that he choked his wife and threatened to kill her.
City police said Stephen Allegar, 40, of 607 Walnut St., Apt. D, attacked his wife April Decker at around 9:44 p.m. Tuesday.
Allegar was taken into custody following a call to his apartment. Police say witnesses saw him choking Decker.

He is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, harassment and reckless endangerment. Allegar was arraigned in Bethlehem before on-call District Judge Patricia Romig-Passaro, and sent to in lieu of $10,000 bail.
