Police: Man Threatened Group With Machetes

Easton police say a West Ward man threatened a group of juveniles with a machete Sunday evening.

Stephen McDougald, 42, of 1008 Lehigh St., was arrested following an incident on South Third Street, city police said.

According to court papers, McDougald punched one man, and threatened some juveniles. Police say he was in possession of two machetes and a pair of weighted gloves.

He was arraigned before District Judge Daniel Corpora, and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and possession of prohibited/offensive weapons. He was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $40,000 bail.
