Police: South Side Man Assaulted Daughter
Wayne Mervin Youngkin Jr., 44, charged with assault and harassment.

A South Side man admitted to police he hit his daughter Sunday afternoon after she spit in his face following a verbal argument, court records say.
Meanwhile, the daughter of Wayne Mervin Youngkin Jr., 44, told police her father was drunk and punched her in the face, threw her to the floor and slammed her head into the floor.
A police officer said he saw an area of redness and swelling in the area of the daughter’s right eye, as well as a laceration under the right eye, the records say.
Youngkin, of 725 W. Grant St., was charged with simple assault and harassment by physical contact. He was arraigned by on-duty District Judge Robert Hawke of Lehigh Township and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
