Quilter's Guild Opening Reception

The Nurture Nature Center of Easton, PA, and the Courthouse Quilters Guild of Frenchtown, NJ, have combined efforts to create an exhibit of quilts and textile art portraying the theme of Weather.

Embracing the Nurture Nature Center’s focus topic for 2015, the quilt guild chose to base its own yearly member challenge on fabric art portraying weather in all its forms. Members were given five months to create their pieces, which were judged by the membership for creativity and technique. Wall quilts include realistic pictures of weather and its effects as well as modern and traditional interpretations of weather phenomena through color and design. Objects and clothing, both fanciful and practical round out the exhibit.
