Approximately 40 striving entrepreneurs participated in a speed coaching event on Thursday evening, September 19th, to learn strategies for success, tips for getting their business off the ground, and to toast a growing program in the Lehigh Valley.
Part of Samuel Adams’ Brewing the American Dream program, the event pairs small business owners involved in food, beverage, craft brewing and hospitality with Samuel Adams staff and local expert “coaches” to discuss areas of business development.
“I haven’t forgotten how hard it is for small business owners to get started,” said Jim Koch, founder and brewer of Samuel Adams.

Attendees rotated through 20-minute, personalized coaching sessions to discuss topics covering business planning, merchandising and sales, financial management, marketing, social media, legal, website design, e-commerce, and more.
Advice wasn’t the only freebee on the menu. Samuel Adams’ signature Boston Lager® and Octoberfest were free-flowing for attendees at the Samuel Adams brewery in Breinigsville where the event was held. Both beers paired nicely with the creamy ranch and parmesan garlic flavored wings, chicken salad sandwiches and sweet tea provided by Ms. Brandi’s A Wing and A Prayer, a soul-food take out and catering company based in Easton that recently received an $11,500 loan from the Brewing the American Dream program—the first in the Lehigh Valley.

Food for thought for aspiring small business owners: consider attending an upcoming event, online workshop, or seminar—all of which are free through the program and available to help small business owners start or grow their American Dream.
Cheers!
