Studebaker Drivers Club meeting

"TRANSPORTATION THAT TRANSCENDS TIME AND GENERATIONS"

This Saturday(Aug 24)
the Keystone Region Chapter of the International Studebaker Drivers
Club will be meeting in Easton. Members will be visiting the
Farmers' Market for the Tomato Fest, The Nurture Nature Center for
Science On a Sphere, followed by a visit the
Josiah White canal boat and the National Canal Museum. Although they
have not produced a vehicle since 1966, the Studebaker Corporation is
still the company with the longest
run of 'over the road' vehicle production in U.S. history (114 years
1852-1966).  That is longer than Cadillac
,Ford, Oldsmobile, or Chevrolet!  Studebaker is the ONLY vehicle
manufacturer to
transition from the horse and buggy era to electric and finally
gasoline/diesel
vehicles!  The Studebaker family also has a close connection to
Pennsylvania:  they first established their American roots near
Gettysburg before moving further west.  Studebakers will be on display
at the National Canal Museum At
Hugh Moore Park Sat. after 3P.
