Wilson Girls Lose Close Game

Warriors outscore Southern Lehigh 14-6 in Fourth Quarter comeback.

Southern Lehigh was the site of Tuesday's match up between the Spartan and Wilson girls varsity basketball teams.  This was the first league game of the season for both teams and while the Southern Lehigh team was missing key players due to injuries, the Wilson team is missing graduated player Sondrine Glovas, who had been a scoring dynamo for the team in previous years.

While the Spartans began the fourth quarter with a  31-22 lead,  the Warrior girls hoops team was not willing to accept defeat.  Within a few minutes, they closed the deficit and were hot on the Spartan heels, stealing the ball and playing tight defense on the Spartan girls.  The Spartans, on the other hand, had a string of missed shots and were having difficulty with the Warrior press.  The Spartans added to their troubles by losing the ball during critical plays, fraying the nerves of spectators and coaches alike.

In the end, the Warriors efforts would fall short, one point short, and the team lost to the Spartans 37-36.
