Wilson Lions Club Fair Ends
Club members say dispute over fees with the borough has ended 31 year tradition.

The Wilson Lions Club Fair appears to be no more.
According to the Morning Call, club members say a disagreement with Wilson borough council over fees -- which pay for police protection and electricity at the fair -- led them to pull the plug on this year's event.
There were other issues as well, such as an incident last year where two workers and a borough police officer sustained electrical shocks.

The fair had been held in Wilson for 31 years. Last year, borough council sent the club a list of demands before it would allow the Lions to continue using Wilson's Meuser Park.
Club president Russ Lipari told the paper he hopes the fair can return some day.

"Is it over forever? I hope not," he said. "Right now I think it's a done deal, but we may find we'd like to sit down and talk about it again."
