Wilson Thrift Shop Caters to Kids
'When children look good, they feel better' is Kids Go Round's motto.
Last year, Wilson's Glendora Dunn set out to help a friend make rag dolls.
Those dolls needed clothes -- kids' clothes to be exact. But when Dunn began hunting through thrift shops, she wasn't crazy about what she saw.
She started thinking about a more upscale version of a thrift shop, and a few months later her was opening in Wilson.

It's a small store for small people, with clothing for younger children. It's a tight fit, but everything's clean and in good shape.
"I wouldn't sell anything I wouldn't allow my children to wear," Dunn said.

On the wall behind her is the store's mission statement: "We believe that when children look good, they feel and perform better."
Dunn said the economy also played a role in her decision to open the shop.
"Children, they grow so quickly," said Dunn. "Who wants to spend a lot of money on children's clothing when they won't fit in a few months?"
Dunn works full time for AT&T's human resources department, but hopes some day to turn the store into a full-time endeavor.
For now, she's operating Kids Go Round with her sister and her niece. The store is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
