• Local Woman Charged With Child Endangerment After Allegedly Leaving Children Unsupervised at Emlenton Truck Plaza (exploreclarion.com) — State police say two children were twice left unsupervised to sell iced tea at the Emlenton Truck Plaza in Venango County, leading to child endangerment charges against their mother. A preliminary hearing is set for October 14 in Venango County Central Court, and the case centers on August evenings when plaza staff watched over the children until pickup.
• Semitrailer fire, multivehicle crash shut down part of I-80 (thederrick.com) — Emergency crews from Emlenton and surrounding departments responded Wednesday morning after a semitrailer fire and separate three‑vehicle crash shut down westbound I‑80 between the Emlenton and Clintonville exits for about four hours. One person was taken to Grove City Medical Center, and Emlenton Volunteer Fire Department officials say the truck driver escaped injury after detaching his cab from the burning trailer.
