Introducing...DECEMBER LUNA MUSIC!!

December Luna Music is a musical project created by Jessica Rose Price, violist and composer/arranger.  Rose has fourteen years of musical experience and exposure, starting with viola lessons from Professor Paul Windt of Muhlenburgh College in Pennsylvania. She received private vocal instruction from Lunda Cornelius, for five years, and was also involved with Pennsylvania Youth Theater in dance and theater.  She graduated from the Lehigh Valley Performing Arts High School in Pennsylvania and was a violist for the Young People's Philharmonic & Moravian College Orchestra; she then went on to be the second chair violist for the Richmond Philharmonic in Virginia.

In the beginning of 2011, Rose was the violist and assistant recording producer of Gypsy Cat Project, a guitar/viola duo who performed in Tucson and Las Vegas.  By June she started her solo music career, began composing, and tutoring viola students.  Rose performed at many nightlife hot spots in Tucson, including People's Imports, La Cocina, The Hut, Tucson Botanical Gardens, and at the Fox Theater with the Civic Orchestra. She also was a special guest on The Duke and Cat Show- Access Tucson, and The Breakfast Club hosted by BSceneLive.  Her unforgettable viola playing & vocals have been heard alongside several other bands, including Dr. Meatpie, Cinder Bridge, Top Dead Center, Heaven's Gators, and One Heartbeat. Pagan Radio Network in California, CauldronFM in the UK, and No Label AZ Radio, circulate air time for Rose's original songs.  December Luna Music has performed at Jimmy's Place, Allentown, the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Whitehall, PA and with the Moravian College Orchestra.  Recently her demo version of "The Golden Rule" was featured on The Hermetic Library's Magick Music and Ritual 4, available on CD and download. Currently Rose is performing with the East Stroudsburg University Orchestra, HeartStrings Viola Ensemble, and will be releasing her new album "Children of the Mystics" this year.

Question #1: What are 3 things that you would tell someone who has never seen December Luna Music to entice/convince them to come to a show?

I am a "one woman band": I use all my own equipment and instruments: viola, guitar, and I also sing on stage.  I have equipment that allows me to use two instruments simultaneously so I can do a viola solo, while playing a guitar riff, on my original songs.

I perform my original songs, which are definitely unique because I incorporate viola into the solos, instead of guitar or other typical instruments.

I also perform covers that are widely known to bring familiarity into my repertoire.  A few examples that have gone over well in crowds (and are on my Youtube as well, are): "House of the Rising Sun,"  The Animals,  "Killing me Softly" by Roberta Flack, and "I'm a Bitch" by Melissa Ethridge.

Question #2: What are three future goals for December Luna Music?

The first goal for DLM is to release "Children of the Mystics" within the next few months. All of the recording is complete; the only thing left is the album artwork and production.  The second goal is to book a CD release party for my new album and spread the word, hopefully by the fall of this year.  The third goal is to start composing new songs and instrumental pieces for the next album!
