Buy Smokeless Fireworks Instead, Seven Gen Student Says
Seven Generations Charter School 4th-grader says that smokeless fireworks are less toxic to our animals and to our Earth.

Special to Emmaus Patch by Josh Fritz
Picture a firework about to be set off. Think about all the black smoke polluting the precious air we breathe. Picture the old fireworks left on the ground. Now picture an animal eating the firework and suffering from the horrible chemicals in that firework. When fireworks are left on the ground all the gunpowder, wick, and ash that makes up the fireworks could pollute creeks and rivers nearby. This is why you should buy smokeless fireworks.                                         Â
Smokeless fireworks are less toxic than any normal fireworks. They are also made of a lot less gunpowder, cardboard, wick, ash, and other combustible items. Smokeless fireworks don't produce any smoke at all. Once a firework is set off, it pollutes the air we share and breathe. Most of the gunpowder can leak out of the firework and this can hurt the environment.

Smokeless fireworks are also environmentally friendly, because they are made out of recycled paper and are much easier to recycle. Other fireworks you cannot recycle. If you have a normal firework and don't want to set it off, DON'T JUST THROW ITÂ AWAY! If you throw it away it will go into a landfill and might cause damage to the land or harm animals. It could harm the land by all the toxic flammable items in the firework. What if the landfill caught on fire? Â What if a firework exploded? It would make the fire much worse. What if an animal ate it? It could kill the animal because of all the toxic ingredients that are in it.
Instead of throwing away fireworks, soak it in water until it's wet enough to throw away. That way it won't blow up. Most smokeless fireworks are sold in India and China, but it is worth it to buy them because it is important to take care of the environment. You can also order them off of the internet for a reasonable price. If you buy smokeless fireworks more often they will become more popular, and we can make a big difference to the world.
