Dispose of Unwanted Medicines at Weis Markets on Saturday
Emmaus Police officers will collect old and unwanted prescription medication Oct. 29 at Weis Markets as part of national Take-Back Day.

Emmaus Patch residents can dispose of outdated and unwanted prescription medication safely as part of the third annual national Take-Back Day project.
Medications can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at , 1220 Chestnut St., Emmaus. officers will collect medications.
Police will collect prescription and over-the-counter medications including liquid products and creams in containers. Syringes will not be accepted.

Officials say keeping outdated or unwanted medicines at home poses a danger to children, teens and older adults.
In 2010, Lehigh County police collected almost 193 pounds of pills and capsules. In April 2011, the collection took in almost 1,008 pounds of medications.
