Enjoy an "Old Fashioned Christmas" in Emmaus Saturday

There will be an array of holiday treats all day Dec. 3 throughout the downtown.

Christmas kicks off in Emmaus tomorrow with the return of the annual "Old Fashioned Christmas" celebration in the borough. From noon to 7 p.m. on Dec. 3, there will be holiday activities and refreshments at various venues throughout the downtown.

At the , you can enjoy holiday stories from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., then participate in a wreath-decorating craft from 2 to 4 p.m. Wreaths and materials are provided at $5 a wreath.

From noon to 4 p.m., check out the historic open houses at the , , , and . Children will be able to make their own ornaments and there will be refreshments to enjoy. (The historical society hours are extended until 7 p.m.)

Then, head down to the for the rest of the evening. There will be hot roasted chestnuts presented by Girl Scout Troop 6123 and the Emmaus Kiwanis Club’s cocoa and cookie bar. Don’t miss the horse and carriage rides from 4 to 7 p.m. – adult rides are $7 and children can ride for $3. 

Plus, there will be plenty of music from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., featuring The Lower Macungie Cadence Choir, The Emmaus Moravian Brass Choir and The Bethel Bible Fellowship Church Orchestra.

Finally, at 6 p.m., join Mr. and Mrs. Claus for a community sing-a-long and the . There will even be a children’s tree to display the ornaments crafted at the historic open houses.
