"Death Takes A Holiday"

Opening March 16th, the comedy, “Death Takes a Holiday”!  adaptedfor the stage by Walter Ferris from the original La Morte in Vacanza by Alberto Casella.  “Death Takes A Holiday” runs March 16 – April 1, 2012.

The Shadow of Death, in the course of his nightly gathering of bodies and souls, passes a lovely Italian estate and is struck by the contrast between the fear and loathing he seems to inspire in everyone he comes to collect, and the joie de vivre he observes in the faces and activities of the members  of this household and determines to learn the reasons.  He takes the Duke of the estate into his confidence, expressing his wish to spend three days disguised as a mortal so that he may learn what is so wonderful and compelling about life that would
make the dying terrified at the prospect of leaving the world behind.   In the course of his one weekend as a member of the living, he experiences vast quantities of wine, song, and of course, the most mysterious sensation of all--- love.
