And, this type of a mid-July jump also mirrors historic patterns, according to AAA. The national average rose 17 cents per gallon in July 2011, and 16 cents in July 2012. The price this year has already jumped 12 cents in the first 15 days of July.

Locally, on Tuesday afternoon gasbuddy.com said that there was still one filling station in the 18049 zip code selling below the Lehigh Valley average – the 7-Eleven located at 1146 Chestnut St. & S. 12th Street was selling a gallon of regular for $3.47 per gallon, the website reported.
