I love painting the water and especially the beach--which is fortunate for me since I get lots of commissions for paintings along these lines. These two paintings were commissions I tackled this summer, both for clients who knew one another. When I painted "Jersey Girls", the client's friend saw the painting and wanted her own. Her solution was to stage a photo of her own daughters walking on the beach in a similar fashion to those in the painting, and thus came about " More Jersey Girls". The first measured 11" x 14", the second 8" x 10".
