Obituary: Edmund S. Tyminski, 83

Edmund S. Tyminski, 83, passed away on May 23, 2012.

Edmund S. Tyminski, 83, passed away on May 23, 2012 at the Lehigh Center from complications of the heart. He was the husband of Dolores Tyminski, and they were married for 59 years. A graduate of Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady, NY, Ed was a member of the U.S. Army in Germany after World War II. He later graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 1951. During his career, Ed held interesting responsibilities in manufacturing, as well as cryogenic industries. He is best remembered for his origin and management of nuclear quality assurance programs in multiple plant applications for Air Products and Chemicals during the 1970’s and early 1980’s. Dealing with technical issues in North and South America, Europe, Africa, and the Pacific Rim countries, Ed was very well traveled. In addition to his continuing interests in ship modeling, Ed was quite the student of Civil War history.        

Survivors: In addition to his wife Dolores, Ed is survived by his daughters, Susan, wife of John Fretz of Emmaus, and Kathy Bachman of Wescosville, and his son Steven and his wife Lisa of Devon, PA. He has five grandchildren and two sisters, Jean Tyminski and Florence Karis of Schenectady, NY.

Services: Friday, June 1, 2012 at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexor Ave., Allentown. Calling hours in the church from 10 to 11 a.m. , Emmaus is handling arrangements.
