Violet V. Cope, 86, formally of Vera Cruz, died May 23, 2012 in St. Luke's Hospice House.

Violet V. Cope, 86, formally of Vera Cruz, died May 23, 2012 in St. Luke’s Hospice House. She was the widow of the late Kermit F. Cope. Born in Vera Cruz, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Annie (Rohrbach) Arndt. She worked at Bethlehem Steel during WWII. She was a sewing machine operator for the former Emmaus Manufacturing and the Emmaus Shirt Factory for many years, retiring in 1975. She loved her family, the Phillies, fishing, birds, and being on Memorial Day Parade floats. She was a 30 year breast cancer survivor. She was a member of , ladies auxiliary, Catholic War Vets, and Macungie VFW. She will be remembered for her sweet personality and her patriotic spirit.      

Survivors: Sons; Lee F. Cope and Mary Lou Lombardo of Poconos, Douglas Cope and fiancé Pauletta Reiter of Emmaus. Grandchildren, Stacy Cope-Tayman, Michael Cope Schuler, and Chad Cope; Great Grandchildren Hunter, Logan, Sean Michael, and Nicholas; Brother, Walter Arndt, Jr. and wife Mary of Emmaus. She was predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters.

Services: Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. from , 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Northwood Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to www.schantzfh.com
