Police: Driver Hits U. Milford Utility Pole, Leaves Scene

Emmaus woman to be cited after crash early Tuesday at S. Fifth Street and S. Mountain Drive, police say.

An Emmaus woman unsuccessfully tried to turn right at an Upper Milford intersection early Tuesday but instead drove straight into a utility pole then left the scene, police say.

A state police fax says April M. Horn, 25, was southbound of S. Fifth Street around 1:30am when she tried to turn right onto S. Mountain Drive.

But the turn was unsuccessful and she drove straight into a utility pole on the southeast corner of the intersection, the fax says. She then left the scene, the fax says.

Horn apparently was treated at St. Luke's Hospital-Allentown for a minor injury, the fax says.

Police say she will be cited for several traffic violations, including one for roadways lined for traffic.
