Summer Movie: Tower Heist

Alan Alda makes an awesome sleazeball in Tower Heist.

"Tower Heist" isn’t the kind of movie that will ever be up for an Academy Award.

The plot is at times predictable. The characters are stereotypes. Some of the jokes are a bit stale.

In a nutshell, "Tower Heist" is the story of a bunch of average Joes who attempt to even the score with a Wall Street tycoon who has stolen their retirement money by planning a Robin Hood-style robbery to take back what he has taken from them.

It’s everything summer entertainment is supposed to be. It’s jam-packed with stars, ranging from Alan Alda and Ben Stiller to Matthew Broderick and Eddie Murphy. It’s suspenseful enough to keep your attention without making you think too much. And, it’ll make you laugh.

Tower Heist is rated PG-13.
