The Details on our Mystery Photo are Revealed

Congratulations to Emmaus Patch user Zephyr who helped to solve a great mystery in the Emmaus Patch photo archives. Zephyr totally nailed it. The picture shows a saddle rack.

A quick Google search confirmed Zephyr’s answer as being correct. This type of saddle rack has a list price of $19.95 but can be purchased for about $11. More modern metal versions exist, but they don’t have the rustic charm of the wooden one.

Emmaus Patch received several guesses on this one via email and on the Emmaus Patch Facebook page. The most common “wrong” answer that was sent in was “owl perch installed to attract owls and help control mice around the barn.”

One young boy who saw the picture guessed that it was for holding horse shoes.

As a much-loved second-grade teacher at says, “a wrong answer can still be a good answer.”
