The Sellersville Theater Welcomes Oscar-Winning Musician

You’ll have plenty of time to get your tickets for this week’s musical opportunity because it’s on July 28. And it’s another good one at The Sellersville Theater:  Oscar-winning actor Tim Robbins. You know him from "The Shawshank Redemption" and "Mystic River."

With a father who was part of The Highwaymen (an American folk band), Robbins grew up around music and ultimately decided to launch a second career in it. His first album, with the Rogues Gallery Band, was released in 2010 and is considered “a mixture of The River-era Springsteen with a dash of Tom Waits, punctuated by Robbins’ damaged, delicate vocals,” according to Newsweek.

This summer, he’s promoting the folk/blues album with performances in major cities like Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C., and Toronto, among others. On stage, Robbins performs with energy, telling stories to the audience with a guitar and a classic folk voice reminiscent of Tom Petty. He’s definitely worth a listen.
