Upper Milford’s Aunt Daisy’s up for Sale

A large “For Sale” sign was posted on the otherwise picturesque grounds of in Upper Milford Township about three weeks ago, signifying perhaps the closing of the unique country home store, unless the right buyer is found, according to Aunt Daisy’s co-owner Gerry Ramsey.

“We’re selling both the business and the building,” Ramsey said. “My wife and I have done it for nearly 18 years and we are ready to not do it any more.

“We may not be able to sell the business,” Ramsey added. “Finding a buyer for the store is going to be a hard thing. The store is not a store. It’s a house decorated like a house and the furniture and accessories that we sell do not appeal to everyone.”

Since the for sale sign went up, a few potential buyers have expressed “interest” Ramsey said, but he did not wish to say whether that interest has been in the mid-19th century home in which Aunt Daisy’s is located, the business, or both.

If the business doesn’t sell, he said, it will be liquidated, as he and his wife Anita, (who Gerry says is the brains behind the whole Aunt Daisy’s operation) intend to move “up toward Bangor” to live near their kids (and grandkids).

In fact, the Ramseys have their home in Allentown on the market too, and they have already purchased a three-acre property outside of the Lehigh Valley.
