Accident on Ardmore Allegedly Caused by Bee

Here are the Forest Hills police reports for April 13 to 18.

Forest Hills police responded to a vehicle accident last week that seems to have been caused by a bee.

On April 13, police were called to Ardmore Boulevard after reports that a vehicle had crashed into a telephone pole. According to the police report, the driver told police that there was a bee or wasp in his vehicle, and he thought it stung him.

The vehicle, which was traveling eastbound on the road, went over the grass median and struck a telephone pole. The vehicle and the pole sustained damage. The driver was taken to the hospital for an ankle injury, and Duquesne Light was notified.

April 14

  • A road rage incident was reported on Ardmore Boulevard. A motorist told police that another motorist ran her off the road and gave her the middle finger.

April 16

  • Richard Webb, 52, of Forest Hills was charged with criminal attempt and theft from a motor vehicle. Webb is accused of stealing from a Wilkinsburg Penn Joint Water Authority Van on Avenue A.
  • A 2-year-old child was found walking on the street alone on Marwood Avenue. Police returned the child to his home, and his mother received a warning.

April 17

  • Two men were illegaly dumping bushes over a hillside on Ardmore Boulevard. They received a warning.

April 18

  • Police and firefighters responded to a vehicle fire in the main parking lot of the Forest Hills Shopping Center. The fire was contained and the vehicle was towed.
