After-School Program in Hampton Township

Parents of 1st and 2nd graders -- especially those to the north -- may be interested in Budding Authors, an innovative new after-school program that encourages children about a variety of terrific children's authors through literacy, art, dramatic play, and games.

A typical session will begin with a greeting, followed by playtime/snack at an adjacent playground. After walking back to the teacher's home, the group will discuss the featured author and enjoy a read-aloud, followed by an activity.

Examples of authors who will be discussed: Kevin Henkes, Mercer Mayer, Marc Brown, Tomie dePaola, Robert Munch, Jan Brett, Gail Gibbons, Patricia Polacco, Dr. Seuss, Arnold Lobel, Leo Lionni, Eric Carle, Steve Jenkins, and more.

Drop-off time is between 3:30 and 3:45. Students of Wyland Elementary School can be picked up by the program teacher on-site.
Pick-up time is 5:30 or (for an additional fee), homework help is available until 6:00.
