Bus Driver Held for Court After Fatal Pedestrian Accident
Ernest Brevard, 71, will be arraigned in Common Pleas Court next month.

A bus driver accused of being involved in a fatal hit and run in Forest Hills will be arraigned in Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas next month.
Ernest Brevard, 71, is accused of hitting Alberta Slaczka, 67, with his bus and leaving the scene of the accident. The incident occurred on May 1 at the Greensburg Pike/Carl Avenue intersection. Slaczka died a week later.
Last week, Brevard was held for court on several charges during his preliminary hearing before Forest Hills District Judge Thomas Caulfield.Â

He faces charges of accidents involving death or personal injury, immediate notice of accident to police, false reports, careless driving, reckless driving and failure to stop at a stop sign. Allegheny County police filed the charges.
Brevard was taken to Allegheny County Jail on $10,000 bail. As of Monday, he no long was incarcerated.

His formal arraignment in Common Pleas Court has been scheduled for July 31.
