Career Development Center to hold holiday retail employment career fair with Macy's

Seasonal employment openings at November 19th career fair can provide opportunities for local jobseekers

The Career Development Center (CDC) of Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Pittsburgh (JF&CS) will hold a career fair with Macy’s for adults throughout the region on Wednesday, November 19th from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the CDC offices at 5743 Bartlett Street in Squirrel Hill.

The upcoming career fair will offer retail opportunities in the area of retail sales, visual merchandising, commission sales, bridal registry, cosmetic sales, administrative support and more. Macy’s of Ross Park Mall, Robinson and Monroeville are among the hiring locations.

“Seasonal employment is usually a temporary arrangement, but it’s a good option for jobseekers to consider,” said Patrick Ferraro, Employer Relations Consultant at the Career Development Center. “When you’re looking for work, everything has the potential to help you build relationships and open doors to future full-time employment.”

Career fair attendees can also expect to meet one-on-one with recruiters for brief in-person interviews.

“Career fairs at the Career Development Center are very different from the typical career fair most jobseekers are used to,” Ferraro said. “This career fair will allow for each attendee to spend one-on-one time with recruiters to discuss their background, qualifications and interest in a specific company. That’s why we stress the importance of registering in advance, so we can ensure that critical one-on-one time is available.”
