Easter Services Scheduled in Forest Hills-Regent Square Area

Churches in the Forest Hills-Regent Square area are hosting Easter services. Here's a roundup:

Forest Hills

Christ Lutheran Church—A Good Friday Tenebrae Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, there will be a children's Easter event from 9:45 a.m. to noon. On Easter, there will be a sunrise service at 6 a.m., breakfast at 7 a.m., and Divine Services at 8:15 and 11 a.m.

Forest Hills Presbyterian Church—The church will hold a worship service on Easter morning at 10:30.

Hope Lutheran Church—A Good Friday Taize Prayer will be held at 7 p.m. and a Tenebrae Service at 8 p.m. An Easter service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday with breakfast following.

Regent Square

Waverly Presbyterian Church (Point Breeze)—There will be a Good Friday service at 7:30 p.m. and an Easter Sunday service at 11 a.m.

Swissvale

A Good Friday Via Dolorosa ("Way of Sorrows") walk is sponsored by the Swissvale Clergy Association. Anyone interested in participating should meet in front of St. Anselm Roman Catholic Church--Word of God Parish (7446 McClure Ave.) before 11:30 a.m.  Those gathered will walk one-half mile through Swissvale in commemoration of Jesus carrying his cross to Calvary. The walk will terminate at Pittsburgh Mennonite Church on South Braddock Avenue. The walkers will take turns carrying a cross and will make stops along the way to reflect on selected Bible readings.

Madonna Del Castello—The church will hold Stations of the Cross at noon and a Good Friday Liturgy at 1 p.m. On Saturday, Blessing of the Easter Baskets will be at noon and an Easter Vigil Mass will be at 7 p.m. On Easter Sunday, Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Swissvale United Methodist Church—The church's Easter worship service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. 

Pittsburgh Mennonite Church—The church's Easter worship service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. 

Edgewood

First Presbyterian Church of Edgewood—An Easter Sunday service will be held at 11 a.m.

Churchill

Beulah Presbyterian Church—The church will hold Good Friday Tenebrae Services at noon and 8 p.m. An Easter sunrise service will be held at 6:45 a.m. on the church's East parking lot or in the chapel if it rains. Another service will be held at 10 a.m.

Braddock Hills

Good Shepherd Parish—A Good Friday service will be held at 1:30 p.m. On Saturday, there will be a Blessing of Food Baskets at noon and an Easter Vigil at 7:30 p.m. Easter Sunday masses will be at 9 and 11 a.m.

Wilkinsburg

Mifflin Avenue United Methodist Church—Good Friday service will be at 7:30 p.m. Easter Sunday worship will be held at 11 a.m.
