Edgewood's Street Parking Restriction Lifted for Holidays

Mayor Ed Cook has lifted the restriction prohibiting on-street parking during the holiday season in Edgewood Borough.

The ban will be lifted starting at 3 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, and will end at 5 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013.

Normally, the borough restricts on-street parking between 3 and 5 a.m. It requires parked vehicles to display a valid Borough of Edgewood parking permit sticker in the top left-hand corner of the rear window, according to the borough's website. 

A $20 fine may be levied for any violations. Also, parking in borough-owned parking lots is strictly prohibited unless a lot permit sticker is purchased and displayed in the top left-hand corner of the rear window. This also carries a $20 fine and the vehicle may be towed at the owner's expense.

As of Jan. 1, 2011, residents must purchase a “Visitor Pass” tag that is to be displayed on the rear-view mirror of the visitor’s vehicle if the car is parked overnight.  There is no longer a “call-in” system in place. This does not apply to borough-owned parking lots.
