PennDOT, local police and safety partners will hold a press conference and enforcement event in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh, to announce an educational and enforcement campaign. Representatives from PennDOT, the City of Pittsburgh Police and the Oakland Task Force will speak about the initiative to reduce aggressive-driving crashes, pedestrian jaywalking and bicycle violations.
Police officers from several departments will conduct enforcement in the Fifth/Forbes corridor near the University of Pittsburgh following the press conference. Officers will also be on the lookout for commercial vehicles illegally parked in the business district.
