Banish the chill with the warm sounds of our music-making: holiday Music from the Renaissance City Choirs. Many of the spiritual/religious/secular traditions in December involve light in some way. This concert will warm your heart and draw us all together across our various cultural divides as we share familiar songs (including the annual sing-along of "The Twelve Days of Christmas") and some new sassy music as well.Â
Featured at this concert will be the premiere of a holiday piece commissioned by the RCC, written by composer Jake Heggie (composer of the opera Dead Man Walking) and lyricist Mark Campbell (lyricist for the opera Silent Night, winner of 2012 Pulizer Prize in Music)!
We are joined this year by the wonderful Edgewood Symphony Orchestra and the powerfully moving GLBTA youth performance group Dreams of Hope.
Make this concert your winter holiday tradition.

The Renaissance City Choirs’ mission is to promote a positive image of the GLBT community and to be a leading contributor to the cultural life of the tri-state area.  We seek to build bridges both within the GLBT community and with the community at large. We seek to educate, challenge and enlighten both our audiences and our singing membership. We continue to affirm, by example and through song, the worth and dignity of sexual minorities. www.rccpittsburgh.comÂ
