Jewish Family & Children's Service Annual Meeting Highlights Volunteer Service

"A Tribute to Volunteers" features documentary-style video highlighting volunteer service; Dr. Howard A. Mermelstein award to be presented

Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JF&CS), a non-profit social service agency that has helped individuals and families through life’s changes and challenges for more than 77 years, will hold its Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 21st at 6:30 p.m. at Rodef Shalom Congregation (4905 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, 15213).

This year, JF&CS’s Annual Meeting focuses on a tribute to the hundreds of volunteers who propel the programs and services that make the agency’s work possible.

“Each year at our Annual Meeting, we share the many accomplishments of our agency with the community, but we simply could not deliver our services without the tremendous support of our volunteers,” said Aryeh Sherman, JF&CS President & CEO. “Volunteers are vital to JF&CS’s work and mission, and we are so thankful to those who help make it possible to change the lives of so many.”

Additionally, the JF&CS board governance committee will present the annual Dr. Howard A. Mermelstein Leadership Award to current board member Paul Dubner. In his role as a board member, Paul has demonstrated strong leadership, commitment to the community, as well as dedication to the mission of JF&CS. The meeting will also include reports from Board President Wendy Mars, Ph.D. and President & CEO Aryeh Sherman.
Each year, JF&CS serves more than 8,000 people who utilize programs and services related to unemployment, food insecurity, aging, critical needs and more, with the goal of helping individuals and families regain and/or maintain self-sufficiency when faced with life’s changes and challenges.
