Motorist Hits Teen on Bike in Edgewood

Here are the Edgewood police reports for May 10 to 16.

A 15-year-old riding a bicycle was hit by a motorist in Edgewood last week.

On May 16, Edgewood police received reports that a motorist making a left turn into the borough building parking lot hit the teen, who was taken to Children's Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

As of Monday, the car's driver had not been charged with anything.

May 11

  • Freddie Woodroe McCray, 26, of Pittsburgh, was charged with resisting arrest, retail theft and disorderly conduct. He is accused of stealing $135 worth of clothes from Kmart.

May 13

  • Two juveniles were accused of stealing baked goods and Mountain Dew from the Giant Eagle at Edgewood Towne Centre. They will be privately prosecuted.
  • A woman is accused of attempting to steal crab legs from Giant Eagle. She will be privately prosecuted.

May 15

  • Several Linden Avenue residents reported someone had written offensive words on the sidewalk with chalk.
  • A Race Street resident reported a stolen backpack.
