Peach Festival, Carnival and Cleanup Event Set for This Week

1. C.C. Mellor Library Carnival, Monday, Aug. 12—The summer carnival will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Koenig Field in Edgewood. Enjoy games, a bounce house and a dunk tank. Call 412-731-0909 to register.
2. Live at the Map Room, Monday, Aug. 12—Circus Mutt from Ashville, NC, will be playing a rootsy, rock'n'roll, reggae and bluegrass set at the Map Room, 1126 South Braddock Ave. in Regent Square, beginning at 8 p.m.
3. Edgewood Symphony Orchestra auditions, Tuesday, Aug. 13—If you think that you (or any friends) would make good additions to the ESO, consider auditioning at the First Presbyterian Church of Edgewood. To schedule an audition, contact Marilyn Myers, Personnel Manager at auditions@edgewoodsymphony.org or by phone at 724-444-6694. The audition consists of a sight reading excerpt and a short excerpt or piece (2-5 minutes) which has been chosen and prepared in advance.
4. Peach Festival, Wednesday, Aug. 14—The First Presbyterian Church of Edgewood is hosting a Peach Festival that celebrates locally grown peaches in an array of fresh desserts. The cost is $4 for adults and $2 for children 12 and younger. Take out is available.
5. Cleanup Event, Saturday, Aug. 17—Anyone interested in volunteering for this Edgewood Foundation cleanup event, meet at 327 Locust to pick up gloves, reflective vests and garbage bags. Crews will clean Brinton Road. Contact info@edgewoodfoundation.org for more information.
