Symposium on "Blacks in Ballet and Master Ballet Class"

Presents...Blacks In Ballet…Practice And Theory Symposium & Master Class, Sat. June 29, 2013. Dr. Joselli Audain Deans, former dancer with Dance Theatre of Harlem and national Ballet Dance Scholar will  outline the achievements and
contributions of Blacks in Ballet and lead a discussion on the marginal representation
of Black Dancers in the American Ballet world and practices that can transform the Concert stage, through a scholarly presentation and "real
life" reflections. The presentation will be followed by Q & A.
The Symposium presentation begins with registration at 8:30am; the presentation from 9-10:30 and from 11am-12:30pm, Dr. Deans will lead a Master Ballet Class.  The Symposium is free and the Master class is $10.00.
