Thefts, Hit-and-Runs Keep Edgewood Police Busy

Here are the Edgewood police reports for May 17 to May 23.

The following incidents were reported to the Edgewood Police Department:

May 17

  • A hit-and-run accident was reported on the 1200 block of South Braddock Avenue.
  • A vehicle fire was reported at the intersection of Edgewood and Oakview avenues. The fire department extinguished the flames.
May 19
  • A blower was stolen from East Swissvale Avenue.
  • A leaf blower was stolen from Lincoln Avenue.
  • A private book exchange box on East Swissvale Avenue was damaged.
May 20
  • A dog bite was reported on West Hutchinson and East End avenues.
  • Thomas Peebles, 19, of Braddock, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct after an incident at Edgewood Towne Centre.
May 21
  • Gregg Parker, 52, of Pittsburgh, was charged with retail theft. He is accused of stealing razors from Kmart.

May 23
  • A hit-and-run accident was reported on the 1500 block of South Braddock Avenue.
