Traffic Stops, Thefts and Hit and Runs Keep Edgewood Police Busy

Here are the Edgewood police reports for April 26 to May 2.

The following incidents were reported to the Edgewood Police Department:

April 26

  • A hit and run accident was reported on South Braddock Avenue and lower Towne Centre Drive.


April 27

  • A hit and run accident was reported at South Braddock Avenue and the parkway ramp.


April 28

  • Police made 50 traffic stops in the area of the parkway ramps. The Edgewood/Swissvale parkway on ramp was closed that weekend. About 44 citations were issued.
  • A woman reportedly left Eat'n Park without paying.


April 30

  • Theft from a motor vehicle on Mifflin Avenue was reported.


May 2

  • Owen Vandivier, 35, of Edgewood was charged with accidents involving damage to an unattended vehicle or property, operation of a vehicle without official certificate, prohibition on expenditures for emission inspection, registration and certificate of title required and three counts of criminal mischief. Police arrested him in regard to an incident on April 4.

 

  • A hit and run was reported at the Giant Eagle parking lot.
  • A woman will be privately prosecuted after being accused of stealing condoms from Giant Eagle.
