Author William Styple brings Civil War voices to life for Darke County veterans (mycountylink.com) — Gettysburg residents may spot Civil War author William Styple regularly at the Gettysburg National Military Park museum bookstore, where he chats with visitors and signs his history books. Now a nine-year resident of Gettysburg, he’s sharing thousands of wartime letters through a weekly YouTube series. His work aims to preserve soldiers’ real-time experiences for readers and viewers today and a century from now.

3. Gettysburg Foundation expands Field of Remembrance goal to 17,760 flags (gettysburgconnection.org) — A massive Field of Remembrance display is coming to Gettysburg this November, with up to 17,760 sponsored American flags installed near the Eternal Light Peace Memorial. Residents and local businesses can sponsor flags or volunteer to help place and remove them, supporting the Gettysburg Foundation’s preservation and education work during the community’s PA250 commemorations.

4. Canner Foundation funded 28 Upper Adams education projects last school year (gettysburgconnection.org) — Upper Adams students enjoyed 28 extra learning projects last year, including trips to the Gettysburg Battlefield and Eisenhower Museum, thanks to the Canner Educational Foundation. The group, now a 501(c)(3), will also join the Adams County Giving Spree on Nov. 5 at the Wyndham in Gettysburg, inviting local donors to support more classroom grants and field trips.
