1. Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission Plans New PA 283 Access Ramps (pennwatch.org) ā Drivers around Harrisburg could see relief from chronic backups as the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission plans new ramps linking PA 283 directly to the Turnpike between the Harrisburg East and Lebanon-Lancaster exits. The project aims to cut congestion and crashes near the I-283/PA 283 interchange, improving safety and travel times through this heavily used Dauphin County corridor.

2. Harrisburg Mall is no more: Shopping center site gets new signs (pennlive.com) ā The former Harrisburg Mall site along Paxton Street in Swatara Township, just outside Harrisburg, has been rebranded as Swatara Exchange as demolition gives way to new construction. Several new retail and restaurant buildings, including a future home for 2nd & Charles, are underway, backed by $2.65 million in state transportation funds to widen roads, upgrade signals, and improve pedestrian access around the busy corridor.

3. Woman arrested for theft in Harrisburg (newportdispatch.com) ā A Steelton woman was arrested in Harrisburg after investigators say she stole credit cards from an elderly patient and ran up more than $2,500 in charges. Upper Allen Township Police report she was taken into custody in the city on July 21 and has since pleaded guilty to theft and related offenses involving the vulnerable victim.

4. Pennsylvania Bans 11 Individuals From Gambling Including Woman Who Left 1-Year Old in Car for 3 Hours in 80 Degree Heat (gambling911.com) ā Pennsylvania has banned 11 more people from all state-regulated gambling, and the Gaming Control Board will hold its next public meeting at Strawberry Square in downtown Harrisburg on September 23. The latest exclusions include cases involving children left in casino parking lots and counterfeit money, and raise the total number of people on the state's involuntary gambling ban lists to nearly 1,500.
