Actors will portray nine figures tied to the 1867 "Home for the Friendless," with small-group tours, light refreshments, and accessible routes; advance registration and $25 tickets are required.
2. Harrisburg University hosts defense innovation summit (wgal.com) — Harrisburg University is hosting a three-day defense innovation summit downtown, giving residents and students a rare look at cutting-edge drones, 3D printing, and metal casting labs. Military, industry, and university leaders are using the event to spark student interest, show off multimillion-dollar equipment, and build collaborations that could shape future defense technologies from right here in Harrisburg.
3. Pennsylvania expands services for people struggling with gambling addiction (fox43.com) — State officials meeting in Harrisburg are rolling out expanded help for Pennsylvanians battling gambling addiction, including access to case managers and broader support services. Leaders stressed the personal and financial toll of problem gambling as wagers and tax revenues climb, and encouraged anyone struggling to seek confidential help through 1-800-GAMBLER and new counseling resources.
4. Pennsylvania to receive over $500 million after Meta settlement (local21news.com) — Pennsylvania will receive more than $500 million from a major Meta settlement, with new rules aimed at protecting young social media users, and a Harrisburg college student welcoming the added safeguards. The agreement forces Facebook and Instagram to add age verification, time limits, overnight restrictions, and fewer addictive features for kids. State lawmakers will now decide how to spend the settlement money.
