Juniper Village at Mount Joy Leader Celebrates Career Milestone

Mount Joy, PA – Alicia Hill's professional journey with Juniper Village at Mount Joy has taken her from a role as Connections Associate to a leadership role as the Connections Director at the personal care community. In this role, she designs, plans, and oversees vibrant, personalized engagement programs that promote the physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being of the residents. Alicia has also reached another milestone by earning her Pennsylvania Personal Care Home Administrator license.

Hill first joined Juniper in December 2020 as a Connections Associate while studying sociology at Millersville University. She remained with Juniper until July 2022, when she left to pursue another professional opportunity, officially returning to Juniper in December 2025 as Connections Director.

"I have always loved working in senior living, and coming back just felt right," said Hill. "Each day here at Juniper, I am so incredibly lucky to be able to make a difference in the lives of those we serve."

Since then, she has continued to develop her leadership skills while taking on new opportunities for professional growth. In April, Hill began a 100-hour course to become a Personal Care Home Administrator. She completed the course in June, passed a competency test in July, and attended the official Pennsylvania Department of Human Services orientation before becoming licensed as a Personal Care Home Administrator in Pennsylvania.

The course provided Hill with training on many aspects of personal care settings, including personal care services, medications, resident rights, cultural competency, and fire prevention. She said the experience has given her additional knowledge that she can use in her current role and as she continues to grow in senior living.

"Completing this course and obtaining the license, for me, brings me one step closer to being able to advocate for our residents and bring about good change in the industry as a whole," said Hill.

Renee Lentz, Executive Director at Juniper Village at Mount Joy, encouraged Hill to pursue the license and has supported her professional development since her return to the community.

"Alicia brings a rare combination of curiosity, intelligence, and genuine care for people to everything she does," said Lentz. "Watching her grow into a leader at Mount Joy has been incredibly rewarding."

Hill said she has also benefited from the support of mentors and fellow team members throughout the licensing process. When she had questions, she knew she could turn to others at Juniper for guidance.

"I have had endless training opportunities since being back at Juniper—something not everyone can say about their workplace," said Hill. "Juniper truly believes in investing in its team members."

As she continues in her role as Connections Director, Hill hopes to apply what she has learned while continuing to grow professionally. She said one of the most important lessons she has gained through her work is the importance of compassion.

"Whether that be in care, management, or elsewhere, a little compassion always goes a long way," said Hill.

Hill's journey with Juniper Communities continues to give her opportunities to learn and take on new responsibilities. With her administrator license now complete, she is looking forward to continuing to support the residents and community at Juniper Village at Mount Joy.
